Journal of Chinese Language Education and Evaluation (JCLEE) (Print ISSN: 3078-283X; Online ISSN: 3104-5030) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hong Kong Information Education Publishing Company Limited. JCLEE publishes two issues each year in both Chinese and English. 


Scope and Topics 

JCLEE focuses on a wide range of topics related to Chinese language education, including: 

  • • Language teaching and Evaluation (including curriculum, teaching materials, teaching methods); 

  • • Chinese Language Education and Evaluation (including linguistics, dialects, second foreign language acquisition); 

  • • Chinese Literature Education and Evaluation (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Literature education and evaluation); 

  • • International Chinese Language Education and Evaluation (including overseas Chinese language teaching and Evaluation);

  • • Comparative education between Chinese and foreign languages; 

  • • Chinese education and international communication; 

  • • Cross-cultural communication and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. 

This journal encourages interdisciplinary research, particularly on emerging topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence in Chinese language education and evaluation. In line with international standard, JCLEE does not have fixed  sections or columns, but accepts high-quality research within these areas of focus.


Open Access Policy

JCLEE is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.
